About the position

Everest Insurance, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd., is seeking a Claim Data Research Analyst to join our team. This position is integral to our claims department and involves a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office and two days remote, primarily based in Warren, NJ, with a secondary location in Philadelphia. The Claim Data Research Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of data across various channels, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our claims operations. In this role, the analyst will develop control structures within a simple environment to maintain data integrity and quality. This includes performing data integrity gap analyses and coordinating with business owners and IT to resolve any identified gaps. The analyst will also be responsible for gathering functional requirements from business partners, developing complex queries, and generating insightful reports that aid in decision-making processes. The position requires a proactive approach to analyzing key performance indicators for the claims organization, preparing monthly and quarterly analytics reports for management, and assisting with forecasting and claims strategy. The analyst will also engage in fraud detection, subrogation, medical management, and legal analytics, managing various claim-related databases and researching data irregularities to present findings in a clear and concise format. This role is essential for driving improvements in our claims processes and ensuring that we meet our organizational goals effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly claim analytics reports for management
  • Help analyze key performance indicators for the claims organization
  • Work with large data for ad hoc reporting and trend analysis
  • Assist with forecasting and claims strategy
  • Help with fraud, subrogation, medical management and legal analytics
  • Manage various claim related databases
  • Research data irregularities
  • Present all data in a clear and concise format

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an analyst and/or knowledge of data mining is preferred
  • Prior insurance or reinsurance experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Highly-effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of databases and data structures
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Intermediate facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure
  • Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision or questions
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Ability to write various documents such as functional requirements
  • Ability to compare technologies and make recommendations to senior members of the team
  • Understanding of privacy laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL), Power BI
  • Intermediate level proficiency with VBA
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, and Outlook
  • Ability to collaborate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers/clients
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (preferred)
