About the position

The Travelers Claim Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the insurance industry, focusing on claims management. Interns will receive training on Travelers systems and protocols, engage with personal and business insurance claims, and develop skills in investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims. This program is designed for those serious about pursuing a career in insurance, providing exposure to real-world scenarios and mentorship from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• On-board with Travelers systems and protocols.
• Gain exposure to personal and business insurance claims of basic to moderate complexity.
• Learn effective strategies for investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims thoroughly and efficiently.
• Develop knowledge of estimating damage and determining coverage for claims.
• Observe the work of Claim Professionals through desk and ride-alongs.
• Work with a designated coach on core assignments related to claims.
• Complete challenging and meaningful project work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
• Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Fields of study include Business Administration, Liberal Arts (with business focus preferred), Business Management, or Risk Management and Insurance.
• Undergraduate students completing their freshman year preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
