The representative will conduct detailed investigations, manage the repair process, negotiate settlements, and ensure compliance with state legislation.
Responsibilities
- Verifies commercial auto coverage.
- Coordinates the repair process including total loss and ultimate resolution of the claim.
- Determines compensability through thorough investigation of the claim.
- Establishes timely and appropriate reserves based on the claim profile.
- Documents specifics of claims with potential for subrogation recovery.
- Manages bills directly associated with the claim and approves payments where appropriate.
- Concludes and closes files following resolution of claims to meet internal performance standards.
- Works closely with manager on complex files or files above settlement/reserve authority.
- Manages outside vendors to ensure cost containment efforts.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Stays abreast of changes in auto statutes and case law.
Requirements
- Minimum one year relevant experience in claims handling or completion of claims trainee program.
- Ability to interpret policy coverages and familiarity with the auto damage repair process.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual skills preferred.
