About the position

The Claims Appraiser - Auto Estimatics position at State Farm involves evaluating vehicle damage and creating repair estimates while providing exceptional customer service throughout the claims process. The role requires interaction with insured clients, repair shops, and claim handlers, ensuring a smooth claims experience. Responsibilities

  • Collect vehicle information from repair shops or customers and complete initial estimates via photos or in person.
  • Utilize automated estimating systems to prepare repair estimates.
  • Provide technical support to claim handlers on vehicle repair issues.
  • Apply knowledge of market value and other factors affecting reparability issues.
  • Evaluate bid content and photo documentation, vehicle damage, and causation issues.
  • Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls to customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Interact with parties who express strong emotions or concerns about ongoing inspections or claim resolutions.

Requirements

  • Auto collision repair, auto damage estimating, and/or auto insurance appraiser experience.
  • Ability to adequately evaluate vehicle damage and create repair estimates which may require stooping, bending, and some physical lifting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License (preferred).
  • CCC One and/or Mitchell knowledge.
  • I-CAR Platinum Certification.
