About the position

We are seeking a Claims Operations Specialist 2 to join our team at the Automobile Club of Southern California. In this role, you will provide oversight and subject matter expertise in support of the Claims business unit goals and objectives. You will play a crucial role in developing processes that enhance the effectiveness of our operations. Your responsibilities will include developing SQL scripts, dashboards, and automating manual tasks using a variety of data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Teradata, Tableau, and Excel. You will design, build, maintain, and enhance reporting that measures performance indicators such as Service Quality, Productivity, Frequency, and Severity. In addition to your technical skills, you will provide actionable information to claims management through ad hoc data analysis, statistical analysis, and your insurance acumen to deliver solutions and recommendations. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other business units, including Underwriting, Product Management, and Big Data, to achieve common goals and objectives. Continuous development of your technical and analytical skills is expected, and you will have the opportunity to share best practices with various teams. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about data analysis and is looking to make a significant impact within the claims operations team. Responsibilities

  • Develop SQL scripts and dashboards to automate manual tasks.
  • Design, build, maintain, and enhance reporting for KPIs such as Service Quality, Productivity, Frequency, and Severity.
  • Provide actionable information to claims management through ad hoc data analysis and statistical analysis.
  • Collaborate with other business units such as Underwriting, Product Management, and Big Data to achieve common goals.
  • Continuously develop technical and analytical skills and share best practices with various teams.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience preferred.
  • Proficient in SQL and Tableau.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills required.
  • Data analyst experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with Club or similar claims systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Python or R preferred.
  • Experience with Club software programs preferred (Claims Portal, Business Objects, CACS, PRIME, HUON, etc.).
