About the position
The Claims Prevention Coordinator- Operations at PITT OHIO is responsible for managing claims-related communications and processes within the Monroe, MI Terminal. This role involves interacting with both internal and external customers to address issues related to shipments, damages, and claims, while also conducting daily dock checks and audits to minimize claims exposure. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality service and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with both internal and external customers on a wide range of issues including shortages, damages, and claims.
- Conduct thorough daily dock checks to itemize shipments that need to be moved or investigated.
- Attend weekly shift meetings to discuss over, short, and damage (OS&D) issues with employees.
- Review the weekly Claims Report and rebut any claims that should not be paid.
- Communicate daily with Terminal Manager and supervisors regarding quality issues and claims.
- Audit bills of lading, delivery receipts, and operations movement documents for errors.
- Minimize the company's claims exposure through investigation and communication with customers and employees.
- Work with Terminal Managers and supervisors to minimize claims through training and education of workers.
Requirements
- Command of the English language to communicate effectively with customers.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Software products.
- Strong typing skills.
- Ability to react productively to change and handle essential tasks as assigned.
