About the position
The Claims Representative I (Health & Dental) position at Elevance Health is an entry-level role focused on processing health and dental claims. The representative will undergo a comprehensive training program and will work under direct supervision to ensure accurate claims processing and resolution of issues. This hybrid position requires the candidate to be within commuting distance of the Roanoke, VA office for on-site training and occasional in-office work.
Responsibilities
- Complete the required basic training successfully.
- Perform basic job functions with assistance from co-workers and managers.
- Code and process claims forms for payment, ensuring all necessary information is provided.
- Research and analyze claims issues as they arise.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent and related experience, or a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
Nice-to-haves
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience using PC, database systems, and related software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
- Ability to work from home with hard-wired internet access and a quiet, private workspace.
