About the position

The Claims Representative Workers Compensation role involves analyzing complex workers' compensation claims to determine benefits due, managing high exposure claims, and ensuring timely adjudication within service expectations and industry best practices. The position requires negotiation of settlements and coordination of vendor referrals, all while maintaining professional relationships with clients and claimants.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process complex workers' compensation claims by investigating and gathering information.
  • Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
  • Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves to claims.
  • Manage claim recoveries, including subrogation and offsets.
  • Prepare necessary state filings within statutory limits.
  • Manage the litigation process for timely claims resolution.
  • Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation or litigation management.
  • Communicate claim activity and processing with claimants and clients.
  • Ensure claim files are properly documented and coded correctly.
  • Refer cases to supervisor and management as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Self-insurance certification required.
  • Five years of claims management experience or equivalent education and experience.
