About the position

The Risk Manager will oversee the claims process for a Utilities company, ensuring claims are handled efficiently and cost-effectively. This role involves developing and implementing risk management policies, collaborating with legal and insurance stakeholders, and managing incidents from occurrence to resolution. Responsibilities

  • Ensure claims are handled correctly and at reduced costs.
  • Manage the claims process from occurrence to closure, including administrative tasks and software entry.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and protocols.
  • Collaborate with general counsel, attorneys, and stakeholders to resolve claims.
  • Drive the claims process with adjusters for timely follow-through.
  • Act as the primary liaison with insurance brokers, adjusters, and workers' compensation carriers.
  • Oversee and manage all incidents, ensuring proper reporting and resolution.
  • Analyze and approve claims loss and expense reserves established by insurance carriers.
  • Travel to various field locations to assess risk and investigate incidents.
  • Develop and implement process improvements in the risk management program.
  • Provide guidance on general liability and workers' compensation issues.
  • Partner closely with EHS on OSHA investigations and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Experience as an adjuster, preferably in workers' compensation.
  • Experience working as a paralegal or in a law firm dealing with injury cases and claims.
