About the position

The Claims Service Representative for Medical Only Workers Compensation at Gallagher Bassett is responsible for administering lower exposure claims in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. This role involves investigating losses, evaluating claims, and ensuring timely and equitable claim dispositions while maintaining positive relationships with clients and claimants. The position is fully remote and requires active licenses in Oregon and Washington State.

Responsibilities

  • Administers lower exposure claims in accordance with all pertinent requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Works with and obtains information from clients, claimants, vendors, field personnel, and other internal or external resources.
  • Investigates losses to determine cause, scope, and extent of damages and/or liability and possible subrogation.
  • Evaluates claims for purposes of setting reserves and making appropriate payments.
  • Documents all activity to support the outcome of the claim file.
  • Achieves fair, equitable, and timely claim disposition that is consistent with customer and internal expectations.
  • Communicates effectively with claimants, clients, and other internal or external contacts.
  • Maintains positive relationships and creates a high level of satisfaction with clients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 1 year related claims experience.
  • Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled.
  • Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
  • Computer experience with related claims and business software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Claims background with experience adjusting medical only claims from initial contact to resolution of the claim life cycle.
  • Jurisdictional experience in Oregon and Washington State.
  • Active Adjusters' licenses in Oregon and Washington State.
