About the position

The Claims Specialist at Nextech is responsible for managing various claims, including Workers Compensation, Automobile, and General Liability claims. This role involves monitoring, coordinating, and processing claims while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Claims Specialist serves as a technical resource for employees and is tasked with maintaining case history documentation, evaluating accident reports, and providing training and guidance as needed. This position is essential for ensuring timely processing of claims and supporting the company's commitment to quality and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record appropriate leave usage relative to Workers Compensation benefits; notify payroll and other appropriate personnel regarding adjustments.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to supervisors, managers, and site representatives regarding Workers Compensation, Auto Accidents, and General Liability issues.
  • Analyze circumstances of claims, injury records, and medical evaluations; document injuries and assure prompt delivery of medical and financial services.
  • Assist Risk Manager with facilitating and coordinating program-related training as appropriate.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records, logs, correspondence, and files related to assigned activities.
  • Receive, file, and organize employee accident reports; determine reportable accidents and initiate claims.
  • Coordinate and maintain schedules for ergonomic evaluations for employees.
  • Receive and process information on property and liability claims; provide appropriate documentation and forms.
  • Evaluate accident reports, ensuring the timely processing of medical bills and benefits.
  • Review documentation to determine whether medical bills and benefits should be continued.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Prior onboarding experience with Workers' Compensation & Vehicle Repair required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • HVAC Industry experience or service industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and Liability Insurance carriers.
