About the position

The Clamp Truck Driver/Sit Down Forklift position involves operating forklifts to load, store, transport, and deliver various materials in a manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and effective communication with supervisors and team members. The position offers two shifts: a morning shift from 6AM to 2PM and an afternoon shift from 2PM to 10PM, with potential for overtime and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Load, store, transport, and deliver units of sheets, in-process materials, and finished boxes.
• Generate and maintain accurate records of materials handled.
• Maintain clean and orderly storage areas and aisles.
• Follow all safety rules and practices, reporting unsafe issues to the supervisor.
• Read factory work orders and shipping/receiving papers to understand customer requirements.
• Monitor conveyor take-off lines, removing units and loading them into trailers or storage.
• Check load tags and unit counts for accuracy and ensure proper scanning of load tags.
• Ship all orders complete on the same trailer.
• Read and follow all instructions and special orders.
• Inspect finished units during loading to ensure they are free from damage and properly secured.
• Maintain organized paperwork on the Dispatch desk.
• Deliver materials to production areas as required.

Requirements

• Certified ability to safely operate a forklift/box clamp truck.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to accurately read a measuring tape.
• Ability to use basic shop math.
• Ability to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to scan all material picked up.
• Commitment to working safely at all times.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
