About The Position

1-800-Pack-Rat is seeking Class A or B drivers for the delivery and pick-up of portable storage units. This position offers the opportunity to be home every day, with no prior experience required as training will be provided. We are looking for safe and courteous drivers to join our team, with immediate hiring available. The role requires availability to work Monday through Saturday.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement)
• Clean driving record with no moving violations
• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with exceptional driving record
• Ability to secure and renew Medical Examiner's Card by passing DOT Physical every two years

Responsibilities

• Operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle
• Pull a towed weight up to 10,000 lbs. (Class A certified)
• Transport goods from the place of origin to assigned destination
• Provide excellent customer service
• Pick-up loads and organize goods in an ordered manner as routed by management
• Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations
• Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries
• Assist in mapping delivery routes
• Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries
• Communicate with dispatch as needed
• Perform inspections of the vehicle prior to and following each trip and report deficiencies
• Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues
• Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
• Track and report working hours
• Adhere to company rules and regulations
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to weather/road conditions
• Comply with DOT regulations
• Make safety a priority
