About the position

The Class A Driver / Rice Loader position at Basin Aviation, Inc. involves the safe and efficient loading of liquid crop protection chemicals, fuel, and other materials into aircraft. This entry-level role requires physical labor, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with regulatory standards while working in agricultural environments.

Responsibilities

  • Fill aircraft with liquid crop protection chemicals, fuel, or dry materials.
  • Lift sacks and chemical containers; operate conveyor belts; climb to load or fuel aircraft.
  • Move loaders and other company equipment to required locations.
  • Clean and maintain loaders before, during, and after use.
  • Maintain aircraft and airport property, and assist in construction and clean-up projects as assigned.
  • Handle pesticides safely and complete required training and certifications.
  • Ensure all procedures are conducted safely, especially when handling hazardous materials.
  • Maintain personal protective equipment in clean and well-maintained condition.
  • Keep accurate inventories and ensure loads are mixed to specifications.
  • Thoroughly clean mix tanks after each job to prevent contamination.
  • Supervise crew members to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Comply with federal, state, county, and local ordinances and DMV regulations.
  • Follow company procedures for incidents or aircraft accidents.
  • Report discrepancies or injuries to the Safety Supervisor or Owner immediately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid California driver's license and Class A license.
  • Ability to pass safety training program quizzes.
  • Ability to read and interpret chemical labels and safety instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift Certification (not required)
  • Familiarity with agricultural equipment and machinery
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
