About the position
PITT OHIO is seeking a Class A Linehaul Driver for their Baltimore, MD Terminal. This full-time position offers home daily routes primarily during overnight hours, with a focus on safety and compliance with federal regulations. The role includes driving a commercial vehicle, performing inspections, and occasionally assisting with freight loading and unloading. Responsibilities
- Drive a commercial vehicle safely during overnight hours primarily in road operations.
- Transport freight between terminals or to relay points and return to the home terminal.
- Occasionally make customer deliveries or pickups as needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight at terminals using dock tools such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Inspect the vehicle for defects and ensure safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
- Comply with all federal requirements regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver's logs.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 25 years.
- Two years of verifiable driving experience (approximately 100,000 miles) or one year of experience with an accredited driving school diploma.
- Pass a PITT OHIO driving test administered by an approved trainer.
- Must have a hazardous material and tank endorsement or obtain it within 90 days of employment.
- Possess a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence with no record of suspension or revocation in the last 36 months.
- No record of serious driving violations in the past 36 months.
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and consent to a pre-employment drug screen.
- Demonstrate a stable work history and good work ethic.
