About the position

The Class B Roll Off Driver position at Interstate Waste Services involves safely operating roll-off trucks for the collection of waste and recyclable materials. The role requires a valid CDL B license, with a focus on safety and compliance with regulations. Drivers will work primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday hours, and are expected to manage physical demands associated with the job, including lifting and maneuvering heavy loads.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of waste or recyclable materials.
• Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, making multiple trips throughout the shift.
• Perform manual and automatic truck operations as required.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver up to 100 pounds repeatedly during routes.
• Mount and dismount the truck multiple times each route.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with airbrake endorsement.
• At least 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the public and understand traffic signals.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.

• Experience with backing maneuvers in tight areas.
• Familiarity with waste management operations.
