About the position

The Classification and Compensation Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the compensation and staffing needs of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). This position involves assisting with the administration of the compensation program, conducting salary studies, maintaining compensation files, and providing training and resources for supervisors. The analyst will also perform Workday processing of compensation actions and assist with Affirmative Action reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the compensation program by reviewing position descriptions for accuracy.
  • Build compensation resources such as templates and guides for supervisors.
  • Assist with compensation training and promotion reviews.
  • Perform Workday processing of compensation actions including salary adjustments and reclassifications.
  • Create and update approved positions and position descriptions in Workday.
  • Maintain compensation files and online resources, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Conduct job analysis to determine appropriate job titles and equitable compensation practices.
  • Run compensation reports and compile data for market review adjustments.
  • Serve as back-up in Benefits by assisting employees with benefits eligibility and processing life events.
  • Complete mandatory training and participate in professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • One or more years of experience in Compensation or HR functions.
  • Experience using Workday and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working in Human Resources for a state entity.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification.
