About the position

As a System/Network Administrator at Leidos, you will be integral to the design, maintenance, and enhancement of our classified environments. This role requires a tech enthusiast who is passionate about ensuring seamless operations while adhering to information assurance requirements. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining Windows servers, desktops, and network devices, with a bonus for Linux experience. Your contributions will include installing and configuring Active Directory environments, embracing new technologies to meet evolving requirements, and documenting system configurations and baselines. You will also provide backup and recovery services while managing file systems and disk space, utilizing desktop and server virtualization within VMWare vSphere and ESXi. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will handle ticket loads and prioritize daily on-site support and troubleshooting. You will work on multiple projects, either as a team member or occasionally leading a project, and manage user accounts and access control in both domain and stand-alone environments. Ensuring the proper marking, handling, and storage of classified materials is crucial, as is performing troubleshooting to diagnose network issues using various network tools. You will serve as a primary project member on technology projects with large scope and impact, potentially leading and integrating the work of other staff members. Your role will also involve installing, configuring, and maintaining network components, including switches, routers, wireless devices, VPNs, firewalls, and TACLANEs. You will coordinate and schedule the installation of new network equipment or the relocation of existing equipment, and participate in or lead the review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions related to hardware and software acquisitions and network updates. Additionally, you will engage in research and development initiatives and assist in implementing new technologies, including performing switch firmware updates and managing firmware updates for security compliance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of System/Network Administrator experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with security agencies, customers, and management.
  • Manage multiple networks in a dynamic, demanding environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of network operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework requirements for Windows and Linux systems.
  • Experience with advanced networking concepts such as switch stacks, VLTs, VLANs, spanning tree, port-channels, QoS/CoS, L2 switching and L3 routing protocols (EIGRP/OSPF/BGP), VSS, multi-tier LAN design models, 802.1x, and 802.11.
  • Experience with physical network infrastructure, with an emphasis on copper and fiber optic Ethernet networks, including installation, termination, and troubleshooting.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a classified Collateral environment.
  • System Administrator experience in a similarly sized organization.
  • DoD Directive 8570 / 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
  • Network certifications.
  • BS Degree.
