About the position

The IT Systems Engineering Manager at MIT Lincoln Laboratory will lead the Operations IT Systems Team within the Classified Enterprise Services team. This role involves managing a team responsible for providing support through a Classified Service Desk and ensuring the readiness of the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) and Enterprise Lincoln Collateral Network (ELCN). The manager will oversee operations, enhance processes, and ensure excellent customer service while maintaining compliance with NIST standards and managing vulnerability assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Operations IT Systems Team within the Classified Enterprise Services team.
• Manage a team of technicians and engineers to support the Classified Service Desk and network readiness.
• Ensure the team provides excellent customer experience for users of SIPRNet and ELCN.
• Manage the team's ServiceNow ticket queue and enhance existing processes.
• Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for team performance.
• Coordinate with CES Engineering and ISD Cyber teams for remediation efforts.
• Oversee staff performance, training, and mentorship towards operational excellence.
• Engage cross-functionally with internal and external teams to address customer needs.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience managing IT professionals.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, with a degree potentially counting towards work experience.
• Strong understanding of Classified IT processing and related regulations.
• Critical thinking skills and an analytical approach to problem solving.
• Experience with NIST 800.53, STIGs, and SRGs compliance standards.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
