In acknowledgment of this opportunity, the Classified Transformation organization and leadership structure have been put in place, along with significant investment to drive positive changes to both transform and standardize Classified IT delivery. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing and planning network communications systems, developing and overseeing system architectures, and serving as the focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture. This includes ensuring the conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system. The role involves developing systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definition, as well as providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. The engineer will also conduct testing of network design and maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Additionally, the engineer will evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network.
