About the position

The Classroom Instructor - Interventionist/Assessment Coordinator is responsible for implementing the district's educational philosophy and instructional goals through effective teaching practices. This role involves developing lesson plans, providing individualized instruction, and assessing student progress to create a conducive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for individualized and small group instruction.
  • Translate lesson plans into effective learning experiences.
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior for a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluate pupil's academic, behavioral, and social growth, keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports.
  • Communicate with students and parents regarding pupil progress and the school program.
  • Identify pupil needs and collaborate with other professionals to address health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Create an effective learning environment with displays and bulletin boards.
  • Maintain professional competence through staff development activities.
  • Participate in the district evaluation process with administrators.
  • Select and requisition instructional materials and maintain inventory records.
  • Supervise pupils during out-of-classroom activities.
  • Administer group standardized tests as per district requirements.
  • Participate in curriculum development programs as needed.
  • Attend faculty, team, and departmental meetings, and sponsor co-curricular activities as assigned.
  • Employ various instructional techniques and strategies tailored to student needs.
  • Ensure safety of students and staff during instructional activities.
  • Utilize and care for equipment, materials, and facilities responsibly.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
  • Enforce school rules and administrative regulations.
  • Collaborate with staff in planning instructional goals and strategies.
  • Promote good public relations with parents and the community.
  • Assign tasks that ensure a high probability of student success and expect reasonable progress from all students.
  • Provide guidance to promote pupil welfare and educational development.
  • Implement authentic instruction and continuous assessment.
  • Supervise classroom aides and volunteers effectively.
  • Adhere to the professional code of ethics established by the Education Professional Standards Board.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Requirements

  • Certification by the Kentucky Department of Education.
