Latino Network's mission is to provide transformative opportunities, services, and advocacy for the education, leadership, and civic engagement of our youth, families, and communities. We actively partner across a variety of city, county, state, and community organizations to deliver training and support, a wide range of services, as well as influence policy. The Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) Career Coach will work in concert with Latino Network staff and community partners to provide career coaching and support to participants throughout their enrollment in the program. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves position with the capacity to positively impact the lives of resilient and underserved families. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a representative of the PCEF program and its partners.
  • Act in a professional and positive manner; provide accurate information, polished written materials, and expert technical assistance.
  • Recruit and prepare eligible participants for grant-funded training services.
  • Data entry into Latino Network case management software as well as I-Trac database.
  • Attend Economic Justice Department staff meetings, monthly all staff meetings, and all trainings as required.
  • Submit accurate, timely quarterly and other reports as requested by Program Manager.
  • Perform fiscal admin duties to ensure participant expenses are compliant with funding guidelines and are appropriately tracked and allocated.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Development Program Manager to identify new funding needs for enrolled participants.
  • Provide career coaching to assist participants plan and prepare for entry into training activities/services.
  • Refer appropriate participants for engagement in occupational skills and On-the-Job Training in the clean energy industry.
  • Provide career coaching to participants to ensure completion of occupational skills training and assist in placement in unsubsidized and training-related employment upon completion.
  • Implement required program elements as defined by program standards provided by Latino Network.
  • Conduct outreach, recruit, and provide orientation to potential program participants.
  • Verify and document participant eligibility in accordance with guidelines.
  • Coordinate and provide Career Coaching to participants throughout their enrollment in grant.
  • Make final enrollment decision and complete enrollment process for participants determined eligible.
  • Maintain regular contact with participants during program participation.
  • Conduct and record employment and reputation confirmations.
  • Assist in the execution of special assignments, including compiling and analyzing data.
  • Ensure the accuracy of department reports, publications, and other documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Energy, Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Design, Engineering, Science, and Sustainability.
  • At least two years of experience in clean energy, green infrastructure, or regenerative agriculture projects.
  • Knowledge and ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret budgets.
  • Experience working with multiple calendars, competing interests, and priorities.
  • Demonstrate experience working with complex systems, agencies, and organizations.
  • Experience working with the public and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate expertise in assisting individuals to develop employment, training, and supportive service plans.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge and experience using data systems and technology.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to employ critical thinking.
  • Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Knowledge of and experience in trauma informed care, case management, direct client services, and assertive engagement.
  • Respect for diversity; desire and ability to work cross-culturally.
  • Knowledge of culturally based world-view and problem solving practices of Latino individuals and families.
