About the position

The Cleaner-F-T position at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES is a part-time role focused on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across various locations. The role requires performing general cleaning tasks, ensuring that all facilities are well-kept and compliant with health standards. The position operates primarily in the evenings, from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Perform all necessary cleaning tasks required to service and maintain all Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES locations.
• General cleaning of buildings and grounds.
• Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures, floors, sanitary fixtures, and drinking fountains.
• Clean Life Safety Equipment such as eye wash stations and safety showers.
• Clean all hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, shops, and isolation rooms.
• Disinfect door handles, student desks, and chairs.
• Maintain floors by dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
• Vacuum carpets, floor matting, and window ledges using floor units or backpack units.
• Clean conference rooms including setup and teardown, and refreshment setup.
• Move furniture or equipment as required within or between buildings.
• Clean windows, both exterior and interior, including classroom windows and mirrors.
• Deliver pandemic supplies and UPS packages.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and waste.
• Report major repairs needed promptly to the Working Foreman or via email to the Director of Operations & Maintenance.

Requirements

• Current Driver's License
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Preferred experience in building cleaning and related activities
• Ability to use supplies and equipment economically and efficiently
• Ability to work as a team member as well as independently with motivation and judgement to complete all assigned tasks.
