Responsibilities

• Washes floors, corridors, stairs, and stairwells using various cleaning implements.
• Collects, transports, and disposes of medical waste or spoiled linens according to procedures.
• Strips and waxes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets; dusts assigned areas.
• Cleans and scrubs lavatories and locker rooms, including sinks, urinals, toilets, and showers.
• Cleans and polishes furniture, metal fixtures, and equipment.
• Removes hazardous articles from floors and places them in designated receptacles.
• Moves furniture and equipment for cleaning activities or event setups.
• Changes curtains and drapes and hangs decorative objects.
• Empties trash, recyclables, and waste according to the cleaning schedule.
• Assembles cleaning cart and mixes cleaning solutions as per manufacturer directions.
• Wears appropriate protective clothing and equipment as required.
• Checks supplies and equipment, notifying the supervisor of low levels or malfunctions.
• May be assigned to remove snow, clean sidewalks, and mow lawns.
• May be assigned to high cleanliness areas like laboratories and operating rooms.
