About the position

The Cleaner position at C&W Services involves performing a variety of custodial duties under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor. The role is essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in buildings, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Use light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas.
• Spot clean and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Wash and spot clean interior walls as appropriate on a daily basis.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, following standard bathroom procedures.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily and place it in approved containers for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers as specified.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances as directed.
• Perform periodic work such as high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing.
• Complete any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable vacuum cleaner (backpack style).
• Attention to detail and a pride in delivering excellent service.
• Strong organizational skills and high levels of energy and endurance.
