About the position

The Cleaning Associate at TJ Maxx is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, focusing primarily on floor care. This role involves operating cleaning equipment and performing various cleaning tasks to ensure the store meets cleanliness and safety standards. The position also requires cross-training in multiple areas of the store to support business needs and enhance customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care.
• Operate the scrubber and buffer for floor maintenance.
• Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs.
• Role model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store.
• Adhere to all company policies concerning Health and Safety.
• Participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Participate in safety awareness to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate cleaning equipment.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding to changes in direction or unexpected situations.

• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
