About the position

Mindbank Consulting Group is seeking highly experienced Java Developers for direct hire opportunities in Reston, Virginia. This position requires candidates to work 100% onsite and must be US Citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph. The salary range for this role is between $165K and $185K, depending on the candidate's skills and experience. In this role, you will leverage your strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program that provides Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems. As a Java Developer, you will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle. This includes scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. You will be involved in software programming initiatives that support innovation and enhancement, utilizing technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Angular. Your responsibilities will also include developing and directing software system validation and testing methods using tools like Junit and Katalon, as well as developing, prototyping, and deploying solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases. You will analyze infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs and support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices. Utilizing industry-leading DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Unix bash scripting will be essential. You will also document and perform systems software development, including the deployment of build artifacts across different environments while leveraging GitFlow constructs. Effective communication of key project data to team members will be crucial to build team cohesion and effectiveness, and you will leverage the Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities and apply best practices and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement using Java, JavaScript, Python, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Angular.

Requirements

• US Citizen with a current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree with 8 or more years of prior relevant experience or Master's degree with 6 or more years of prior relevant experience.
• Significant experience with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and development practices.
• Significant experience using Java, JavaScript, and Angular.
• Significant experience in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices.
• Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as Junit.
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Python and Bash.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.
• Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience with development leveraging cloud data services (e.g., S3, RDS, EFS).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Well versed with using version control systems.
• Well versed with using issue/problem tracking systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in AWS Data management services (Elastic Map Reduce, Lambda, Kinesis).
• Experience with SAFe development practices.
• Experience with either Python, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Hive, Pig, or C++ is a plus.
