About the position

The Cleared Maintenance Engineer (CME) Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Red Hat is responsible for providing architectural guidance and implementation advice for the OpenShift Container Platform suite of solutions to public sector customers. This role focuses on delivering premium support, fostering long-lasting customer relationships, and advocating for customer needs within Red Hat's engineering and technical support teams. The position requires a strong technical background in container technologies and involves on-site engagement with customers 2-3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Support public sector customers in implementing automated and containerized cloud application platform solutions
  • Learn new technologies quickly, including container orchestration and microservices
  • Perform technical reviews and proactively identify and prevent issues
  • Understand customer technical infrastructures and serve as a customer advocate
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, product management, and technical support teams
  • Create documentation regarding customer issues and resolutions
  • Manage and grow customer relationships through attentive support
  • Provide hands-on support as needed
  • Work on customer site 2-3 days each week

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship to fulfill government contract
  • Active U.S. government security clearance
  • Experience with cloud management, particularly Red Hat OpenShift
  • Competent comprehension of enterprise architecture
  • Direct experience with various hardware vendors
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and projects with shifting priorities
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehension of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) concepts
  • Familiarity with source code management tools like Git or SVN
  • Willingness to work onsite 2-3 days each week
  • Willingness to provide after-hours coverage

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification
  • Previous experience with Red Hat technologies
  • Experience with cloud computing and different cloud providers
