About the position

Cherokee Nation Federal Consulting (CNFC) is seeking a Clerical Support professional for the Swing Shift in Ogden, UT. This position is integral to providing office support through data entry and clerical work, which requires familiarity with various work methods, departmental functions, policies, and practices. The work schedule is from 5 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Friday, allowing for a structured yet flexible work environment. The role involves performing original data entry and verification functions on Information Returns using the SCRIPS system, as well as minor transcription tasks. Additionally, the clerical support will input data into an inventory tracking system and manage entity changes, such as name and address updates. The responsibilities extend to processing requests for various products, utilizing automated tools, and performing general clerical tasks such as filing, sorting, and batching documents. The position also includes extracting mail from deliveries, retrieving and filing documents, and preparing documents for scanning. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role requires careful handling of documents, including removing staples and repairing any damage before scanning. Furthermore, clerical support will prepare paper tax returns for transcription and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Perform original entry and/or data verification functions on Information Returns on the SCRIPS system.
  • Input data into an inventory tracking system and manage entity changes such as name and address updates.
  • Process requests for various products and utilize automated tools on a computer system.
  • Perform general clerical work including filing, sorting, batching, or grouping documents.
  • Extract mail from incoming deliveries and retrieve documents from files.
  • File documents and associate them with existing files.
  • Stamp documents with information such as received dates and numbers.
  • Prepare documents for scanning according to instructions, including removing staples and repairing rips or tears.
  • Prepare paper tax returns for numbering and transcription, including pen and ink changes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of previous clerical, office, or related work experience.
  • Ability to type 25 words per minute and proficiency in ten-key entry.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft systems.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to maintain established records and files.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
