About the position

Cherokee Nation Federal Consulting (CNFC) is seeking a Clerical Support professional for the Swing Shift, which runs from 5 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Friday. This position is essential for providing office support through various clerical and data entry tasks that require familiarity with departmental functions, policies, and procedures. The role involves performing original data entry and verification functions on Information Returns using the SCRIPS system, as well as minor transcription of information into computer programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for inputting data into an inventory tracking system, processing requests for various products, and performing general clerical duties such as filing, sorting, and batching documents. Additionally, the role includes extracting mail from incoming deliveries, retrieving and filing documents, and preparing documents for scanning according to specific instructions. This position is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of office operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and organized manner. The Clerical Support role also involves creating and implementing company policies and procedures, assisting in the development of HR programs, and driving performance management processes to foster a high-performance culture. The candidate will work closely with HR colleagues and other departments to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, while also identifying opportunities for improving the employee experience. Responsibilities

  • Perform original entry and/or data verification functions on Information Returns on the SCRIPS system.
  • Input data into an inventory tracking system and process entity changes such as name and address updates.
  • Process requests for various products and utilize automated tools on a computer system.
  • Perform general clerical work including filing, sorting, batching, or grouping documents.
  • Extract mail from incoming deliveries and retrieve documents from files.
  • File documents and associate them with existing files, stamping documents with received dates and numbers.
  • Prepare documents for scanning, including removing staples and repairing rips or tears.
  • Prepare paper tax returns for numbering and transcription, including pen and ink changes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of previous clerical, office, or related work experience.
  • Ability to type 25 words per minute and proficiency in ten-key entry.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft systems.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to maintain established records and files.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
