About the position

The Clerk, Data Entry (Intern) position at Bon Appétit is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment. This role is primarily focused on supporting the inventory management process and providing clerical assistance to ensure smooth operations within the organization. The intern will be based at Butler University, where they will engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency of the data entry and inventory management functions. The position requires a commitment to working on Thursdays and Fridays, with additional scheduling to be discussed during the interview process. As a Data Entry Clerk Intern, the core responsibility involves inventory input, which is crucial after the inventory is counted on Thursdays. On Fridays, the intern will conduct an ICR review, ensuring that Inventory Change Reports are submitted and summarizing any financial concerns for the management team. The intern will also be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy by ensuring that pricing and sequencing are up-to-date and assisting in the addition or removal of items from inventory count documents. Additional responsibilities include updating the SIMAP report to quantify face-to-face purchases for reporting to Butler University, daily recording of guest counts to help units understand business trends, and assisting the bookkeeper with accounts payable entry. The intern will communicate with vendors and team members to resolve discrepancies in invoicing, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and perform other duties as assigned. This position offers a pay rate of $15.00 per hour and includes an internal employee referral bonus opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory input after inventory is counted on Thursday.
  • Conduct ICR review on Fridays to ensure Inventory Change Reports are submitted and summarize financial concerns for managers.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring pricing and sequencing are up-to-date and assist in adding/removing items from inventory count documents.
  • Update the SIMAP report that quantifies face-to-face purchases for reporting to Butler University.
  • Record daily guest counts to help units understand business trends and provide recommendations on growth opportunities.
  • Assist the bookkeeper with recording and processing invoices, communicating with vendors/team members on discrepancies to resolve inaccuracies in invoicing.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform job safely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
