About the position

The Front Office Clerk at Bally's Evansville is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while managing front desk operations and switchboard communications. This entry-level position involves processing reservations, handling guest inquiries, and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously using service standards.
• Process all reservations received from various sources, including hotel, special events, and concerts.
• Connect administrative or guest calls in a timely manner.
• Update and verify information regarding travel agents, group records, sold out dates, and special rate dates.
• Process credit card charges for reservations accurately.
• Maintain awareness of marketing promotions, special events, and hotel rates to inform guests efficiently.
• Offer alternative options to guests when initial reservation requests cannot be fulfilled.
• Handle customer disputes and direct them to the appropriate source when necessary.
• Research and prepare requests for complimentary services when necessary.
• Register guests according to established service standards.
• Obtain appropriate credit/payment for guests' stays.
• Issue room keys to registered guests.
• Close out guest accounts upon departure accurately.
• Close out shift at the end of the work period.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 to 3 months of related experience or training preferred.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods (7+ hours).
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, and climbing stairs.
• Must be able to understand and communicate in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus.
• Familiarity with lodging and gaming systems.
