About the position

The Clerk IV position at Iowa State University is focused on providing procurement support and managing expense-related tasks within the Division of Operations and Finance. Responsibilities

• Determine the best method for procuring and paying for supplies, services, and equipment.
• Coordinate equipment and supply purchases through suppliers, Central Stores, or Chemistry Stores.
• Assist with procuring goods and services in compliance with university policies and procedures.
• Prepare spend authorizations and travel expense reimbursements.
• Reconcile purchasing and travel cards.
• Research information and analyze documents related to specialized subject areas.
• Create and maintain a complex database, generating reports as needed.
• Advise staff and faculty on policies and regulations related to projects or programs.
• Coordinate intra-unit and inter-unit operations and procedures.

Requirements

• Any combination of progressively responsible related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training equivalent to four years of full-time employment.
• Knowledge of institutional and unit policies, processes, and forms.
• Skill in utilizing computer software packages and online systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and display data accurately.

• Previous experience working in a higher education setting
• Previous experience with Workday financial management system
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook and Teams.
