The Sales Service Distribution Associate (PSE) at the United States Postal Service is responsible for providing a variety of sales and customer service functions at a retail window. The associate will also be involved in promoting products and services, ensuring a pleasant retail environment, and performing routine maintenance on sales systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform sales and customer services at a retail window, including selling stamps and other retail products.
• Provide customer service support by greeting customers and explaining store layout.
• Handle customer purchases and returns using a point of sale system.
• Maintain the appearance of the retail lobby and ensure displays are presentable.
• Conduct product inventories and account for items on display.
• Verify presort and bulk mailings and maintain mailers' credit balances.
• Check and set postage meters.
• Rent post office boxes and conduct related administrative tasks.
• Distribute incoming and outgoing mail based on established schemes.
• Perform passport duties as assigned, including verification of identification and application completeness.

Requirements

• Ability to perform sales and customer service functions effectively.
• Strong communication skills to assist and inform customers.
• Basic computer skills for using point of sale systems and inventory management.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized retail environment.
