Client Account Specialist

About the position

The Client Account Specialist serves as the primary contact for customers, managing daily activities and communications related to load bookings and customer requirements. This role involves ensuring timely communication with customers regarding load statuses and may include soliciting business from existing clients. The specialist collaborates closely with operations personnel, sales teams, and third-party vendors to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Identify and understand customer requirements.
• Review all order tenders to ensure coverage is met as requested.
• Review primary and non-primary lanes for load coverage.
• Manage overflow and chemical critical requests.
• Verify customer requirements and directions are accurate and up to date.
• Complete required reports and analyses for customers.
• Build and accept load tenders for scheduling.
• Work with service center operations to schedule load appointments.
• Comply with company transit standards and obtain SDS for new products.
• Review load information and requirements before committing to loads.
• Manage shipment changes and communicate them to Highway personnel.
• Understand customer tariffs and accessorial charges.
• Audit loads for additional accessorial charges and communicate them to customers.
• Fill capacity gaps by reaching out to customers.
• Monitor account scorecards and improve customer performance metrics.
• Oversee chemical critical shipments from start to finish.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ years of customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in transportation logistics/operations preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under deadlines.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
