About the position

The Client Accountant at Gordian Staffing is a senior-level role focused on managing client relationships and supervising accounting teams within the Shared Services division. This position requires a proactive professional with a strong accounting background to ensure quality service, provide financial insights, and oversee bookkeeping, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) functions. The Client Accountant will act as the primary liaison with clients, particularly in the small business and HOA sectors, ensuring their expectations are met and financial tasks are completed accurately.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bookkeeping, AR, and AP teams, ensuring financial tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, managing expectations, addressing any issues, and ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
• Conduct high-level reviews of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
• Proactively communicate with clients, answer questions, address concerns, and provide updates on financial matters.
• Work closely with internal teams to improve processes, especially around complex client needs.
• Offer clients financial insights and support in specialized areas, such as nonprofit accounting, if applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years in accounting with US GAAP knowledge, including 2 years in a supervisory or client-facing role.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is highly preferred; other software experience is a plus.
• CPA designation is a strong advantage but not required.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is beneficial but not essential.
