About the position

The Client Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and supervising the accounting team, ensuring efficient operations and client support through sound accounting practices. This role involves assessing team performance, implementing improvements, and maintaining compliance with audit controls while fostering relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct new business onboarding by coordinating with property management and clients; set up bank accounts and accounting software.
• Monitor team performance, available capacity, and training needs through one-on-one and team meetings.
• Track team compliance with department SOC 1 audit controls and approve banking or financial transactions.
• Review team members' financial reports for quality, timeliness, and audit compliance.
• Monitor timely tax payments, revenue portal updates, and Corporate Aging follow-up.
• Oversee market, strategic, and key client relationships, developing supportive connections with stakeholders.
• Assess workflows and policies to recommend or implement improvements in efficiency.
• Develop direct reports through goal setting and performance reviews, providing timely feedback.
• Lead departmental projects and participate in Client Accounting Committees.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• College degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Five to seven years of experience in accounting or finance, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of Yardi and/or MRI software preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting for multiple entities.
• Strong customer service, time management, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional delegation skills and ability to take initiative.
• Ability to train, mentor, and coach others effectively.

• Experience with financial reporting for multiple entities.
• Knowledge of SOC 1 audit controls.
