About the position

Raymond James Investment Management is seeking a specialist for its Investment Operations Department, focusing on the client onboarding process. This role is crucial for managing the technical aspects of client accounts, particularly in derivatives, and plays a significant part in the compliance infrastructure of Raymond James. The specialist will be responsible for facilitating counterparty management, ensuring compliance during onboarding, and managing custodial account documentation. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, compliance oversight, and effective communication skills to support the onboarding of clients and their investment strategies. The specialist will engage in counterparty management by establishing and maintaining derivatives trading and clearing agreements. This involves collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Portfolio Management teams to add new accounts to existing derivative agreements and utilizing Saphyre to manage the inventory of derivative trading relationships. Additionally, the role includes overseeing the initial portfolio compliance setup, working closely with Client Service and Investment teams to interpret investment guidelines, and entering rules into the Bloomberg AIM system for preliminary testing. In terms of custodial account onboarding, the specialist will manage the necessary documentation and work with custodians to open global markets and derivatives trading capabilities. They will also assist in managing the internal transition status of accounts and collaborate with various internal teams to establish a streamlined onboarding process. This position is integral to ensuring that all aspects of client onboarding are handled efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the establishment and maintenance of derivatives trading and clearing agreements.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Portfolio Management teams.
  • Add new accounts to existing derivative agreements.
  • Utilize Saphyre to manage inventory of derivative trading relationships.
  • Oversee initial portfolio compliance set-up.
  • Work with Client Service and Investment teams on investment guideline interpretation.
  • Enter rules into Bloomberg AIM system.
  • Conduct preliminary testing of rules and guidelines.
  • Manage custodian onboarding documentation.
  • Work with custodians to open global markets and derivatives trading capability as needed.
  • Utilize Saphyre to manage account global market status.
  • Assist with internal management of account transition status.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to establish onboarding process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree and five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.
  • Ability to provide efficient service to internal and external clients.
  • Ability to partner and collaborate in a team environment.
