About the position

Together with our boutique investment managers, we offer a range of investment strategies and asset classes, each with a focus on risk-adjusted returns and alpha generation. We currently have an opportunity in our Investment Operations Department for a Client Onboarding Specialist who will be tasked with assisting with several aspects of the client onboarding process. This role is integral to onboarding the more technical aspects of client accounts, particularly derivatives, and is a critical piece of the Raymond James compliance infrastructure. The Client Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for counterparty management, which includes facilitating the establishment and maintenance of derivatives trading and clearing agreements. This involves partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Portfolio Management to add new accounts to existing derivative agreements and utilizing Saphyre to manage the inventory of derivative trading relationships. Additionally, the specialist will oversee initial portfolio compliance set-up, working closely with the Client Service and Investment teams on investment guideline interpretation, entering rules into the Bloomberg AIM system, and conducting preliminary testing of rules and guidelines. Another key responsibility is custodial account onboarding, which entails managing custodian onboarding documentation, working with custodians to open global markets and derivatives trading capabilities as needed, and utilizing Saphyre to manage account global market status. The specialist will also assist with the internal management of account transition status and collaborate with internal teams to establish an efficient onboarding process. This position requires a strong understanding of portfolio accounting systems and databases, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in client onboarding or investment management.
  • Experience with fixed income securities preferred.
  • Experience with derivative securities preferred.
  • Experience with non-USD securities preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of portfolio accounting systems and databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with compliance onboarding processes.
  • Familiarity with Saphyre and Bloomberg AIM systems.
