About the position

The Client Onboarding Specialist is a member of the Client Onboarding team and will report to the Client Onboarding Manager who oversees firmwide activities related to new account opening, client account maintenance, marketable security transfers and proxy voting operations. In this role, the Client Onboarding Specialist will be directly responsible for developing the team's suite of process and performance metrics to drive business priorities, guide team strategy, and measure process efficiencies. The position will work closely alongside senior onboarding SMEs across multiple geographies to develop KPIs and measure progress toward strategic initiatives. Candidates will engage in targeted training to learn key functional responsibilities of the Client Onboarding team and provide active support to daily operations in addition to their oversight of data strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Summarize and communicate insights and relevance of data analysis clearly and succinctly to bring data into actionable insights.
  • Provide business/process insights for architecture of business, process, and systems through their subject matter expertise.
  • Lead projects to create and improve reporting content and/or advance strategic business goals through use of Snowflake and Tableau.
  • Produce custom team analytics for managerial reporting on a regular or ad-hoc basis.
  • Develop, communicate, and/or expound reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders through data visualization software including Tableau.
  • Troubleshoot any reporting or operational process errors, then propose and implement solutions.
  • Independently identify and manage projects to innovate and improve business and team processes.
  • Develop industry insights through proactive networking, conference attendance, and independent research.
  • Analyze current business practices and procedures and define and implement processes and procedures to ensure data integrity.
  • Produce reoccurring data/reporting deliverables including monthly/quarterly customized reports.
  • Support and facilitate the account opening and funding process across the Institutional and Private Client businesses.
  • Communicate in a timely manner with internal Client Service and Relationship Managers to acquire necessary client KYC documentation for account opening and funding.
  • Manage workflow through multiple systems and applications to meet evolving business demands.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with our client's assigned trust and custodian banks.
  • Partner with external custodian partners to open accounts, fund accounts, process daily account maintenance requests and complete any due diligence related audits and reports.
  • Use appropriate judgement to escalate issues and exception requests against firm policies and procedures and own the resolution communication to impacted stakeholders.
  • Support aspects of proxy voting operations and provide proactive reporting and assistance in answering prospective client request for proposals (RFPs).
  • Partner with other supporting areas such as Legal, Compliance, Internal Controls, Technology, Client Service, and other operational teams to deliver on firm goals.
  • Consistently create an improved operating environment by proactively identifying and escalating control gaps and proposing and instituting best practices.
  • Lead and contribute to firm-wide and departmental value-add projects and present project findings to leadership and other stakeholders as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required plus 4+ years of experience in data analytics, financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Experience developing complex data visualizations using Snowflake, SQL, Tableau, or similar technologies.
  • Proven track record of process improvements using technology solutions.
  • Experience with cleaning, aggregating, and pre-processing data from various sources.
  • Working experience in SQL, and/or Snowflake.
  • Possess global mindset with collaborative behavior.
  • Strong decision making, organization, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Thoroughness, attention to detail and the ability to think and work independently as well as operate in a team with colleagues in multiple locations/time zones.
  • Ability to handle confidential material with utmost discretion.
  • Strong level of attention to detail and proven ability to work under pressure.
