About the position

The Client Platform Debug Engineer will work closely with both internal and external customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PC systems, ensuring that development milestones are met. This role requires a strong understanding of various technologies and systems, particularly in the context of operating systems and hardware interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Debugging and validating PC systems with a focus on the Windows operating system.
  • Providing root cause analysis during the development process.
  • Collaborating with internal and external customers to triage and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Understanding and working with PC industry standard buses and their software stacks, including PCIe, USB, and SATA.
  • Analyzing BIOS, OS, and driver interactions at the system level.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in triage and debugging, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Strong background in Computer Architecture and hardware.
  • Experience with client PC system design, validation, and debug.
  • Proficient understanding of x86 CPU architecture and functionality.
  • Expertise in using debugging tools such as Jtag debuggers, logic analyzers, and bus analyzers for SATA, USB, and PCIe.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills for troubleshooting technical issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with board level design.
  • Experience with OS-based testing tools and environments.
  • Exposure to Hardware, BIOS, Firmware, Assembler, and Kernel abstraction layers.
