About the position

The Client Quantitative Analyst I at Bank of America is responsible for supporting analytical work efforts across various projects within a Line of Business. This role involves leveraging databases to extract client and performance data, transforming it into actionable insights, and delivering these insights to business leaders to facilitate complex decision-making. The position is part of the Operations Data Control (ODC) team, which focuses on data analysis to detect anomalies and improve operational efficiency through automated systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the extraction of data using programming languages such as SQL, SAS, Python, or Spark/Scala.
  • Connects provisioned data across multiple sources and performs necessary transformations to derive meaningful insights.
  • Performs quantitative analysis on customer, transaction, and performance data, providing actionable insights for business partners.
  • Follows requirements developed by other analysts to conduct research and analytics on appropriate data sources.
  • Communicates complex subjects in a simple manner to both technical and non-technical business partners using tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Conducts quality comparison checks on analysis output and escalates data inconsistencies to leadership.
  • Adheres to quality workflow processes and documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of data preparation experience using coding languages such as MS SQL, Teradata SQL, Oracle SQL, Impala, or Hive.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated ETL processes from various database platforms.
  • Ability to design and build relational data models for actionable reports and dashboards.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative work ethic in a cross-functional team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Understanding of automation tools like Autosys and Alteryx.
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and adapt to process changes.
  • Self-starting, organized, and proactive with minimal management oversight.
  • Familiarity with software version control systems such as BIT/GIT Bucket.
  • Experience with BI platforms like Tableau, MicroStrategy, and Alteryx.
