About the position

The Client Relationship Consultant 1 at U.S. Bank is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers through various channels, including in-person and virtual interactions. This role focuses on understanding and addressing customers' banking needs, providing guidance on available products and services, and ensuring an optimal client experience. The consultant will engage in proactive outreach, educate clients on digital banking solutions, and collaborate with branch team members to serve clients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow-up.
  • Engage with customers via multiple channels to assess their banking needs.
  • Obtain and process customer and account information accurately.
  • Demonstrate and educate clients on available deposit and loan products and services.
  • Open new consumer and business accounts and complete service requests.
  • Proactively educate clients on emerging digital products and services.
  • Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience.
  • Provide a consistent optimal client experience, including greeting clients and processing basic transactions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically has a minimum of one to two years of job-related retail banking experience or a combination of experience and training.
  • Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow-up.
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures, and support systems.
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies.
  • Ability to explore and identify a customer's true needs while leveraging a digital first mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated basic level of proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer's needs both reactively and proactively.
