About the position

The Client Service Director at Kennedy/Jenks Consulting is a senior leadership role focused on expanding the company's water and wastewater practice in Southern California. This position requires strong client relationships, business development skills, and the ability to lead and motivate teams to deliver exceptional client service. The director will engage with the marketplace to identify new clients and projects, manage key projects from planning through construction, and contribute to strategic planning and staff development within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Engage the marketplace to identify new clients and projects.
  • Collaborate with and enhance the established team to pursue and win opportunities.
  • Leverage existing municipal and industry relationships to expand service offerings.
  • Utilize relationships and strategic planning skills to pursue and win work.
  • Build, lead, and motivate teams to provide client service on projects.
  • Manage key and strategic projects from planning through construction.
  • Lead client service and professional engagement to enhance brand awareness and identify new opportunities.
  • Contribute to statewide strategic planning utilizing marketing knowledge and established relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders for strategic hiring and staff development.
  • Lead strategic project positioning and oversight of proposal development.

Requirements

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or similar engineering field.
  • California PE license or ability to immediately obtain license.
  • Thorough understanding of the local market and established industry relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of water, wastewater, pipeline, stormwater, environmental, and industrial consulting.
  • Proven experience with business development, relationship building, negotiation, and client service management.
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills.
