About the position

The Client Service Executive is responsible for retaining existing business and developing new business within assigned accounts. This role involves leading the Client Service Team, ensuring high levels of client service, and meeting business retention goals. The executive will build strong relationships with clients, manage renewals, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations while providing guidance to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee ongoing client service activities.
  • Meet with clients throughout the year to ensure high service levels and client satisfaction.
  • Meet business retention goals.
  • Participate in developing new business with existing clients by expanding coverage options.
  • Develop strong business relationships and client trust.
  • Ensure client compliance with annual Form 5500 filing procedures.
  • Advise the Client Service Team in resolving routine client concerns.
  • Investigate and resolve recurring and non-routine client and carrier concerns.
  • Manage the renewal of existing plans.
  • Coordinate coverage placement through instructions to the Client Service Team.
  • Provide direction to the Client Service Team in preparing employee communication materials.
  • Advise and involve the Client Sales Executive in the marketing process as needed.
  • Prepare and present renewal outcomes to clients in a timely manner.
  • Recommend improvements based on changing employee benefit legislation and address client concerns.
  • Conduct employee meetings to communicate benefit options as needed.
  • Review contracts, plan documents, and legal documents for accuracy and timely delivery to clients.
  • Act as a leader for Client Service Team members, fostering trust and open communication.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and collaboration within the team.
  • Focus the team on client requirements and familiarize them with client specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide necessary business information to enhance the team's professional development.
  • Ensure deliverables meet client requirements, cost, and schedule.
  • Work closely with management to obtain resources and discuss project impediments.
  • Prepare quarterly production and activity reports.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with associates and clients.

Requirements

  • A minimum of seven to ten years' experience servicing large client group health and benefit products (50+ lives).
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Professional history showing increasing levels of responsibility related to the duties.
  • Strong familiarity with the Employee Health & Benefits marketplace.
  • Current technical knowledge of Employee Benefit federal and state legislation.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and use good judgment in servicing client needs.
  • Strong communication skills for non-technical explanations of technical matters.
  • Maintain a valid unrestricted Life and Disability License in California and meet continuing education requirements.
  • Maintain a valid California driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Knowledge of personal computing and willingness to learn required computer programs.

Nice-to-haves
