About the position

The Client Services Advocate (Case Management) at SARC plays a crucial role in supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, and stalking. This position involves conducting client needs assessments, coordinating case management services, providing crisis intervention, and offering advocacy and support to clients in various situations. The advocate will also participate in on-call coverage, assist with hospital support, and maintain accurate client documentation, ensuring that individuals receive the necessary resources and support to navigate their challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify and address the immediate and long-term needs of clients.
  • Coordinate services to ensure clients receive access to safe housing, public benefits, emergency financial assistance, health care, substance abuse treatment, legal advocacy, mental health services, and other necessary resources.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, and referrals to community resources.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours needs, including hospital accompaniment for victims of sexual and domestic violence, and supporting sex trafficking victims.
  • Accompany victims to emergency medical care and medical forensic exams, providing advocacy and emotional support.
  • Assist in covering the 24-hour helpline during scheduled shifts and on an as-needed basis.
  • Maintain accurate client records in the Electronic Tracking and Outreach (ETO) system, ensuring timely and comprehensive documentation of services provided.
  • Assist clients in completing applications for financial compensation, public assistance, and other relevant benefits, advocating for clients throughout the process.
  • Provide ongoing support and follow-up services to ensure clients receive the services they need and maintain safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Psychology or Social Work, or a related field required.
  • Willingness to attend ongoing Trauma Informed Care trainings and webinars to stay current with up-to-date trends in intervention.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups and possess excellent listening skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Nice-to-haves
