About the position

The Client Service Representative in the SMBC Transactional Banking Department (TRBD) is responsible for addressing customer inquiries related to cash management products and banking services. This role requires fluency in Japanese and involves collaboration with the product team to resolve issues, as well as providing support to the sales team and corporate banking relationship managers. The representative will develop a strong understanding of internal policies and procedures to effectively assist clients and ensure high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Address customer inquiries on cash management products and related banking services via email or phone.
• Collaborate with the product team to resolve customer issues.
• Support the TRBD sales team and corporate banking relationship managers with product knowledge and customer service.
• Develop a strong understanding of internal policies and procedures to execute processes effectively.

Requirements

• Fluency in Japanese is required.
• More than 2 years of relevant customer service experience, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
• BA/BS Degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Business Japanese and English language skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and remain customer service oriented while handling large volumes of inquiries.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities and proactive follow-up on open items.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across various settings.
• Ability to build constructive relationships with internal and external parties.
• Capacity to anticipate customer needs and suggest solutions.
