About the position

The Client Services Representative I role at SMBC involves providing exceptional customer service and support for cash management products. The representative will log customer inquiries, manage billing entries, and collaborate with various departments to resolve issues. Fluency in Japanese is required, and the position emphasizes effective communication and relationship-building with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Log customer data and inquiry information into proprietary system.
  • Work with our partner bank to provide set up service support and troubleshooting issues.
  • Manage customer entries into our billing database for the purpose of generating invoices.
  • Collaborate with back office operations, Deposit & Clearing, and Investigations departments for wire transfer issues and inquiries.
  • Work together with the product team to assist in resolving issues.
  • Develop knowledge of bank cash management products to provide assistance and support to the sales team and corporate banking relationship managers.
  • Knowledge of internal policies and procedures to effectively execute processes.
  • Maintain close communication with Senior Client Service Representatives on daily tasks and progress.
  • Answer and address customer inquiries related to cash management products.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Japanese is a must.
  • Recommended years of experience: 2 years.
  • Ability to use time efficiently and effectively while remaining customer service oriented.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task a broad range of activities, tasks, and outcomes.
  • Proactively follow-up on open items and work that needs to be advanced forward.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing across various communication settings and styles.
  • Build constructive and effective relationships with internal and external parties, using diplomacy, respect, and tact.
  • Ability to anticipate customer's needs.
  • Ability to quickly learn internal policies and procedures, think independently, and suggest solutions.
