About the position

The Client Success Associate at Alera Group is responsible for coordinating employee benefits services for clients, ensuring a best-in-class experience through collaboration with internal and external teams. This client-facing role requires intermediate knowledge of benefits insurance services and HR administrative functions, focusing on delivering exceptional client service and building strong relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with producers and service team to plan, execute, and track client services and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients' ongoing service delivery.
  • Build personalized client relationships through effective communication channels.
  • Create proposals summarizing programs and options for clients.
  • Analyze risk and coverage program structure, recommending options and executing changes.
  • Evaluate coverage terms and present comparisons to producers and clients.
  • Lead open enrollment meetings to present coverages and benefits.
  • Manage and oversee new business and renewal processes with the service team.
  • Create submissions for underwriters by engaging with clients on their needs.
  • Communicate with underwriters to negotiate premium and coverage terms.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of complete client files in agency management systems.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with insurance carriers.
  • Oversee the accuracy of information in client portals and consult on access decisions.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure cohesive service execution and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other service teams for a cohesive client service experience.
  • Stay current on industry trends and legislation.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate college degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Life and Health Insurance State License required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance carrier, benefits administration, or insurance brokerage preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HMO, PPO, HDHP health plans, wellness programs, and regulatory environment of employee benefit plans.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including strong skills in creating financial spreadsheets.
  • Strong relationship management and customer service skills.
  • High integrity regarding confidentiality of client data.
