About the position

The Client Support Specialist at McKesson plays a crucial role in managing relationships with payer clients, ensuring excellence in program management, and driving financial and operational performance. This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of new programs, maintaining existing accounts, and providing solutions that meet client requirements. The Specialist acts as the primary external contact for clients, leveraging their expertise to optimize payer agreements and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with PBMs and payors for efficient contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate contracting activities for new drug launches, including pricing analysis.
  • Manage contracting, pricing approvals, and performance metrics for medical payor contracts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client projects and status information.
  • Collect and aggregate PBM market intelligence to guide internal teams.
  • Provide proactive consultative services on process improvement and revenue opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly business review collateral for client management.
  • Monitor monthly performance against service level agreements and develop corrective action plans as needed.
  • Ensure contractual requirements are upheld and timely delivery of reports according to program SLAs.
  • Manage onboarding and implementation timelines for new programs or contracts.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in healthcare operational or compliance roles.
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in healthcare contracting, client management, or business development.
  • Proven background in managing complex client relationships and effective communication across the enterprise.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of the insurance or healthcare market and reimbursement models.
  • Experience in a heavily regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to identify trends in data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro.
